In partnership with Foresters™, Unity Life champions the well being of families by investing in the communities where we live and by providing opportunities for our customers, staff and sales agents to make a difference locally.
“Delivering the Difference” in Mexico
In January of 2009, in the small village of Puerto Morelos near Cancun, Mexico, Unity Life and Foresters™ staff, sales agents and volunteers took a day away from a sales conference to rebuild a kindergarten playground that was in desperate need of repair.
The kids were thrilled to get a brand new playground, complete with hopscotch court, new swings, see-saw and slide, and a new garden to brighten their surroundings.
All the planning, construction work, painting and planting were completed by staff and agents, with assistance from KaBOOM!
a national non-profit that helps communities in need build playgrounds. It was an extremely rewarding experience and everyone who participated left with a smile on their face!
“Delivering the Difference” in Halifax, Nova Scotia
On June 17, 2009 over 275 dedicated Unity Life and Foresters™ staff, sales agents, and community volunteers came together to rebuild the playground at École John W. MacLeod Fleming Tower School in Purcell’s Cove, a suburb of Halifax.
Thanks to the efforts of all the volunteers, and the planning and on-site suppport of KaBOOM! the school now has a fun new playground where children with special needs can play alongside their peers.

“Delivering the Difference” in Brampton, Ontario
On August 29th, 2009, 187 volunteers from Foresters, Unity Life and Frank McLoughlin Co-operative Homes Inc. teamed up with KaBOOM! to transform a barren piece of land into a beautiful new place to play in just one day!
